A Touch of Fall...

Hi everybody! I have been off for a little while again, but wanted to drop in for a few minutes to say hello to all of you.

Some of you have been showing pictures on your blogs of the scenery around where you live, and so I wanted to share some of where we live here in Tennessee. Right now, there is hardly anywhere you can drive around here without passing by cotton fields. I have really been struck by what an amazing thing God has given us with the cotton plant. I mean, here is something that grows out of the ground, sprouts out like a beanstalk, and blooms like a flower - and we are able to make clothes and so much more out of it! What an amazing, fantastic miracle of God's creation. So, I just wanted to share some pics with you of this beautiful field full of cotton behind our house.

This first picture was taken on September 25.

The second picture was taken today, October 2, what a difference!
There is hardly any green left on the plants - just lots more cotton!

I wish ya'll could see the trees better in the background.
They are just starting to turn beautiful fall colors now!
THIS IS JUST MY FAVORITE SEASON!!! :0)

My kids think this is so cool!

Well, I hope that you have all enjoyed this little peek into our scenery around here. Hopefully, I will be able to post some more fall pics soon!

Hi Aprille. I'm glad you checked in and I love your pictures. I think it's so interesting how different parts of the country reflect fall differently. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Terri! I love seeing everybody's pics too. I think it's really interesting too how people on the other side of the world are having spring now! Glad you liked the pics!

Love,

Thanks for the pictures April. I've never seen fields of cotton like that before. Come to think of it I don't think I've ever seen a cotton plant!

Those fields are beautiful!

Tracy, I'm glad you like the pics. What amazes me so much is that if you hold this stuff in your hand right out of the field, it feels exactly like a cotton ball that you would use out of a bag from the store! The only difference is they are bigger right off of the plant, and you can feel little seeds in there. I just think it is amazing!

Misty, I know you see them all the time like I do, but you're right - they're beautiful!

Elizabeth, thank you so much for keeping on stopping by. I'm sorry I've been off for a while, but it's good to know you haven't given up on me! I do think that the cotton is just beautiful. Unfortunately, with it right in the backyard, it is playing havoc on my sinuses! I am having to take some Claritin DAILY! LOL!

Thanks to all of you for your comments, I love to hear from you!

Love and ((HUGS)) to all of you (that's great big HUGS!),
Aprille :0)

Miriam, thank you - I'm glad you like the pics!

Sharon, thank you too! Unfortunately, this past Saturday, the combines came and harvested half of the field. They should be finishing it off any day now. It looks so empty when they clear it, but the kids love to have that big flat field to run and play on. I saved one of the pics of just the cotton as my screen background for a week or so, and my hubby got such a kick out of that. He said "you're really into cotton aren't you?" I told him I just think it's so amazing.

Thanks for stopping by!

Love,
Aprille :0)
